Clinton County Genealogical Society

The Clinton County Genealogical Society meets at the Frankfort Community Public Library every 4th Wednesday each month in Room 212, at 630.

 

Clinton County Archives Project

This project contains a searchable index of Clinton County Court Records. Please click here to access it. These records are now available for photocopying at the Frankfort Community Public Library.


Our Genealogy and Local History Department includes an extensive collection of materials:

 

  •         Frankfort City Directories from 1890 to the present

  •        County Cemetery Indexes

  •         Marriage Indexes from 1830 to 1920

  •         Obituary Indexes from 1870 to 1970 and 1987 to the present

  •         A copy of the first Tract Book plus Grantee/Grantor indexes

  •         Guardianships 1836 to 1866

  •         WPA Births & Deaths for Clinton County 1882 to 1920

  •         Wills 1830 to 1904 – indexed

  •         Clinton County Roots (10 years) by Bohm – indexed

  •         Microfilm Census for Clinton County 1830 to 1920

  •         Statistics and Census Microfilm on surrounding counties and information on Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and Kentucky

Family History Classes

Come join us the third Wednesday of each month from 6pm to 8pm for Family History Classes.  The cost is $2.00 and you can register in the Genealogy and Local History Department.  On May 21st, the class will be a workshop, so bring your information & we will have the materials you need to start getting your information into order!

The Genealogy & Local History Department is located in the Gerald and Toni Gill Area in the Lower Level next to Harry's Coffee Bar Materials for Purchase

 

We have a variety of materials about Frankfort and  Clinton County that only we carry. To see a listing of the items and the prices, visit our virtual library shop.

    Our Research Policy:

Due to limited staff resources, the Genealogy & Local History Department will accept queries of a specific nature.  For very general or in-depth research, you can email us and we will provide you with a list of genealogical researchers in the community. 

Research fees include a $5.00 charge for the first inquiry, $3.00 for each subsequent inquiry within the same request, and copy costs.  Copy costs are $.50 per page for microfilm copies and $.10 per page for regular black and white copies.
