Computer Lab and Classes |
The lower level of the library houses a computer lab sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the AT&T Excelerator Grant, consisting of 17 computers. Each computer in the training lab has a Pentium 4 processor, a 3 1/2 floppy disk drive and a zip-disk drive. The software on each computer includes Microsoft Office Premium (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, FrontPage and PowerPoint), Encarta Reference Suite 2001 (Encyclopedia, World English Dictionary, World Atlas, Researcher, Africana) and Internet Explorer.
The library also offers free computer tutoring by appointment. If you have general questions about computers, or have specific needs in a Microsoft Office program, please call to set up an appointment for a free one hour tutoring session at the library. You can bring your laptop, or use one of ours! Please limit six sessions per year per person. If you need to set up an appointment, or have any further questions, please call the circulation desk at 765-654-8746 or e-mail the instructor, Emily.
