Current Volunteer Opportunities

 

Adult Literacy Tutor:Teach adults how to read and how to read and speak English.

Commitment: One hour per week, according to your schedule

Reports To: Director of Adult Literacy.


Book Sales: Sort and count book donations and ready them for sale. Help to maintain and stock the Book store. Locate values for some items on Internet

Commitment: 2-4 hours/week.

Reports to: Extension Services Librarian


Spanish Translator: Translate various library publications and signage into Spanish.

Commitment: As needed.

Reports to: Assistant Director.


Art Show: Help out at the November Art show from baking cookies, making hors d'oeuvres, serving refreshments, docents in the gallery, salespeople, etc.

Commitment: The art show is an annual event held in November.

Reports to : Arts Director


Special Events Need someone to take photographs and someone to videotape special events. Also need help with special mailings and the copying and folding of "Library Lines" every other month.

Commitment: Varies--when called.

Reports to: Arts Director


Coffee Shop: Oversee coffee shop, make and sell coffee.

Commitment: Weekly Shift of two to four hours

Reports to: Coffee Shop Manager


Genealogy: Data Entry, Enter historic courthouse records data into searchable database..

Commitment: Weekly

Reports to: Head of Genealogy
