THE BUTTERFLY
(author unknown)

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.

One day a small opening appeared.

He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.

Then it seemed to stop making any progress.

It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly.

He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily.

But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened!

In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.

It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were Mother Nature's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives.

If God's Spirit allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

We also must accept the mystery of life and all of creation, being careful not to interfere when we truly don't understand the results of our actions.

To assume we can speak or act for our creator may cause unwarranted pain and suffering.

I asked for Strength . . .And I was given Difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for Wisdom . . .And I was given Problems to solve.

Note:  Substitute the words "liberal" and "the liberal" for the words "man" and "he" in the above story while reading it again and you will see why liberalism with its big hearted kindness stunts the natural growth and natural development of individuals in a society.  Liberalism stops the development of independence in individuals and deforms individuals who depend on liberals for their daily bread; and makes them dependents on others for the rest of their natural born lives.

Through good heartedness and plenty of ignorance, liberalism makes helpless slaves and drones of individuals who started out in life with the potential to grow to adult maturity by developing natural survival skills and value for value trading skills through trial and error.

The helping of those who cannot make it on their own is called "charity", which very few in a good society oppose, and yet liberals believe that their form of "help" is the only charity available in a world ruled by "heartless" conservatives who stand back and allow able-bodied and able-minded struggling individuals to become independent and equal in society without the need of elitist liberals guiding and directing their every step in life.
