Frankfort (Indiana) Municipal Water Utility

SCHEDULE OF WATER RATES AND CHARGES


Approved June 9, 2008
by the Frankfort City Council
placed in effect August 1, 2008


There are hereby established for the use of and the service rendered by the Frankfort Water Works the following rates and charges, based on the use of water.


(A)

A Customer outside the city limits of the City of Frankfort shall pay 125% of the calculated charges, unless the customer is governed by an agreement between the customer and the City of Frankfort to make payments in lieu of taxes.

(B) Minimum Charges
Each user shall pay a minimum charge in accordance with the following applicable size of meter installed, for which the user will be entitled to the quantity of water set out in the above schedule of rates.

A Customer outside the city limits of the City of Frankfort shall pay 125% of the calculated charges, unless the customer is governed by an agreement between the customer and the City of Frankfort to make payments in lieu of taxes.

(C) Fire Hydrant Rates

Municipal Hydrants - per hydrant - per annum - $550.45

A Customer outside the city limits of the City of Frankfort shall pay 125% of the calculated charges, unless the customer is governed by an agreement between the customer and the City of Frankfort to make payments in lieu of taxes.
(D) Private Fire Protection Water Service

For use in extinguishing fires only:

A Customer outside the city limits of the City of Frankfort shall pay 125% of the calculated charges, unless the customer is governed by an agreement between the customer and the City of Frankfort to make payments in lieu of taxes.


(E) Colletction and Deferred Payment Charges

All bills for water service not paid within fifteen (15) days from the due date thereof, as stated in such bills, shall be subject to a collection or deferred payment charge of ten percent (10%) on the first $3.00 and three percent (3%) on the excess over $3.00.
(F) Railroads

Water supplied for railroad use may be charged for on such terms as shall be fixed by public contract approved by the said Utility Service Board and the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
(G) Sewage Flush Tanks

The rate for sewage flush tanks shall be $193.26 per annum.
(H) Temporary Users

Water Furnished to temporary users, such as contractors, circuses, and the like, shall be charged on the basis of the cubic feet and rates as set forth above, which number of cubic feet used shall be determined by the Superintendent of the Frankfort Water Works. Tank wagons shall pay a base charge of $10.00, plus the charge for the water, for each fill up.
(I) Customer Deposit (Information Only)

The Utility will require a cash deposit equal to the cutsomer's estimated billing for a period of sixty (60) days, but such deposit shall be not less than $15.00.
(J) Turning on Water Service

There shall be a $5.00 service charge for turning on the water.
(K) Bad Check Charge

There shall be a charge of $10.00 for any check returned for insufficient funds, or because the check is written on a non-existent bank account.
(L) Discontinuance of Service

A charge of $10.00 to cover the expense of turning the water off and on may be made at the time the water is turned on.
(M) Service Connection

Each user, at the time he is connected with the Water Works system, shall pay a charge to cover the costs of tapping the main, furnishing and laying service pipe, corportation and stop cocks, service and meter box, and installing the meter.
(N) Thawing Frozen Services and Meters

For the first thawing of a service line during each winter season, a flat charge of $15.00 will be made. For each subsequent thawing of the same service line during the same winter season, a charge of $20.00 will be made.
(O) Metering

The Utility may charge the customer $10.00 for making the investigation and/or test.
(P) Denial or Discontinuance of Service For Cause

A charge commensurate with the cost of turning off the service but not less than $10.00, may be made.
